About the Exhibition
The Permanent Mission of Colombia to the OAS, the Embassy of Colombia to the United States, the OAS AMA | Art Museum of the Americas, the OAS Department of Sustainable Development, and Colombian artist Helbert Ortiz come together to commemorate World Environment Day.

Sea of Fertility aims to raise awareness of and intensify political action against environmental destruction. Ortiz's paintings strike an emotional chord, immersing viewers within their colors, light, and movement, representing the strength, vitality and complexity of the South American jungles and seas.

The artist captures nature's own palette and the exuberance of the forest and wildlife, both real and imagined. Sea of Fertility stimulates the imagination through the intensity or Ortiz's brushstrokes, and his knack for evoking immediacy and excitement.
