A Personal Geometry
guest artist Julio Valdez
Saturday April 22, 2-4 pm
Collage has always been an exciting way to explore the language of geometry.
In this workshop, participants will create a composition by working with
familiar symbols, such as letters and numbers, as a point of departure.
Using a variety of hand-prepared papers and materials to add aesthetic
qualities to the collage, participants will cut, tear, poke and perforate
these familiar symbols in order to create a new geometric space charged with
personal expression.
all workshops suggested donation of
$5 per person or $10 per family

Geometry, It’s Everywhere!
Saturday, April 1, 2-4 pm
Participants will explore the current
exhibit and then look for the geometry in everyday life, in public and
private spaces, and in their own bodies. Using different examples
from the collection, participants will create an interpretation of their
bedroom. The individual result will become a module for the creation of a
collective construction that expresses the relationship between art and the
body, between art and architecture.
Sensing Art...
Saturday, April 8, 2-4 pm
Works in the exhibit that emphasize gesture,
movement and the senses will be the starting point for the creation of a
collective work that explores the importance of emotions and sensations in
art. Participants will experience auditory, tactile and visual sensations
through different exercises to create two dimensional works of art that will
become part of collective sensory experience.
