Francoise Choveau was born in 1946 in Paris, France. After receiving a philosophy degree from the Aubert Institute, she attended the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris, where she studied drawing and worked with the sculptor Max Fillon from 1975 to 1978, experimenting with wood, clay and metal.
In 1978, she moved to the States where she did a one year apprenticeship in woodfired porcelain and studied glazed calculation at the Rochester Institute of Technology, NY. She has maintained a studio ever since, working mostly in clay until 1990.
At that date and to the present, she started to work at the Moravian Tile Works in Doylestown, PA, being involved in all phases of production of tiles, as well as teaching mosaic techniques.
It is there that she developed a growing interest in cement and mosaics.
Those two elements combined with a passion for decorative art led to the creation of Rex Studio where she creates objects to enhance the quality of the home.

In 1998 her work could be seen at:
-Fonthill, Doylestown, PA. Three person show.
-Art Alliance, Philadelphia, PA. "Mid-Atlantic Contemporary Tile Exhibition."
-Clay Studio, Philadephia, PA. Group show.

In 1999 at:
-"Open space" Gallery, Allentown, PA. Group show.

In 2000 at:
-"Greater Reston Arts Center," Reston, VA, Group show.
