I was born in Leeds, Englandand moved with my parents to
Los Angeles when I was 15.
I graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A.
in Sociology, and minors in psych. and art.
I am married with 2 grown children.
Moved to the Bay Area from Boston, after my husband
finished school. Lived there 'til 1987.
We were fortunate to travel to many different parts of the world.
In many ways my art reflects my travels and ny deep and
abiding interest in ancient ceramics and
architecture, particularly those of the Southwest U.S.A. and middle
and South America.
They greatly influenced my work in terms of design,
color and content and later translated into my own art
form and style, my own "Landscapes of the Mind"
To learn more about clay, I took classes at:
Montalvo Center for the Arts in Saratoga and
The ceramic studio of Judy Lange, ceramic sculptress.
I joined two galleries in the area:
Los Robles in Palo Alto
Jalbert Fine Art Gallery in Saratoga.
Husband's work moved us to Phoenix, Az. in 1987
I juried into Arizona Artist Craftsmen, an active
artists' group throughout the state.
I started my own studio, which became the main focus of
my work.
I am currently part of a travelling exhibit,
Recollection and Recognition, which will be seen
throughout the state for two years.
