Since his retirement from Hancock College, Shinn has become
internationally recognized both in Painting and Ceramics. He has
had over
40 years of art experience beginning in the late 50s at the Academie
Julian and Sorbonne in Paris, France. Since then he received a Bachelors
Degree in Painting and a Masters Degree in Ceramics at UCLA. During
his
career, Shinn has traveled extensively in the USA, Europe, Japan,
and
Russia furthering his art experience and recognition. Shinn's
experimentation with a variety of ceramic techniques has not only
produced
many award winning pieces, but is illustrated in a number of recent
Ceramic books. Work produced with a ceramic extruder has recently
been
featured in Clay Times and Ceramics Monthly. He is now offering
Ceramics
workshops in various techniques.
