STUDENT ART EXHIBITION

The Pan American Association of Kansas City and AMA | Art Museum of the Americas will feature winning works of original art, printed on posters, representative of the cultures of the independent countries of the Americas. The art was created by high school students, from Kansas City, Missouri schools, who participated in a competition sponsored by the Pan American Association of Kansas City. Students were required to research and study assigned countries and create original art representative of their assigned country’s culture. Each participating school first selected four of their best entries per country to submit to the competition for judging, resulting in 280 entries spanning the 35 independent countries of the Americas. Panels of judges from the local art and education communities were selected to judge the competition, resulting in 70 Blue Ribbon Winner works of art, with two winners representing each country. The winning pieces of art will be made into banners that will fly alongside each country’s national flag on Kansas City’s Grand Boulevard of the Americas for an extended period of years.  Grand Boulevard of the Americas is Kansas City, Missouri’s main ceremonial boulevard that runs the through downtown to the city’s river front.
